Bosa & Sinis

After spending our free day on Saturday at the stunning Chia Beach, we headed out bright and early Sunday morning for more adventures. The day started with 7 am crossoint and cappuccino at Coccodi, then 2 hour bus ride to Borore. Here, we toured the one and only Sardinian bread museum. I never knew how many different occasions called for different types of bread, but Sardinians use bread for everything. From wedding cakes to children’s toys to everyday uses, bread comes in all different shapes and sizes. I was temped to include a picture of the fertility bread, but I will leave it up to your imagination (besides, I’m trying to keep this blog PG). We headed to Bosa after the museum, and I found where I want to live forever. It is tucked away in the mountains, it is also neatly nestled between a river and the ocean, so it has everything. All of the houses are painted bright colors, each with its own balcony with lush plants and pretty flowers. I never thought such a cute place existed, but Bosa won my heart. Just when I thought this trip could not get better, we left Bosa and went to S’Archittu. We dropped our stuff off at the hotel and headed right to the beach. It was a beautiful bay with crystal blue water surrounded by greenery. Some people kayaked, some jumped off cliff, but
I chose to sit on the beach, basking in the sun and just admiring the world around me. It was great to finally take a beat and remember how lucky I am to be here.

On Monday, we ate a quick Italian breakfast then toured the ruins at Tharros. We climbed up an old Spanish tower and got an amazing panoramic view of the ocean and the ruins on the coast. It also gave a great view of the archaic wastewater system, which was really cool. Our last adventure of the trip was biking along the Sinis coast. Although it was more of an advanced mountain bike trail (mu butt is very sore), I had a lot of fun, and the beach at the end was definitely worth it. I dove into the bright blue water, ate my lunch and fell asleep in the sun until it was time to leave. Yes, I reapplied three times, don’t worry. All in all, it was an unforgettable weekend. I now understand the hype surrounding Sardinian beaches, as well as its water systems, and I am so grateful for this experience.
